Introduction
Saintpaulia, also known as African Violet is blooming on my windowsill. I couldn’t resist taking a photograph. The flowers grow in clusters and their colour varies from purple to blue, pink to white.

African Violet * Saintpaulia Flower Crochet Pattern
INSTRUCTIONS:
Yarn: cotton floss colour A= purple; colour B= yellow.
Crochet hook: 1.25mm, 2mm
Details of components: petals, stamens
We’re going to crochet the 5-lobed corolla and 3 double-lobed stamens.
Petals
Start: using A and 2mm hook, make 5ch, join with sl st, 1ch, continue work in round
R1: 5sc in ring, join with sl st, 1ch,
R2: (1sc, 2ch, 1dc, 1dc, 1tr, 1picot, 1tr, 1dc, 1dc, 2ch, 1sl st, move to next st)x5 = 5 petals. Finish off A.
Stamens
Start: using B and 1.25mm hook, make (3ch, 2 picot, 3sl st)x 3 = 3 filaments with stamens.
Assembly of the crochet flower
Pull the stamens through the centre of the corolla and secure at the back of flower.

Hi Sherry,
I’m not sure why is the pattern not printing. I do right click with my mouse and click on Print Preview. There are 3 pages for this pattern. Click on the 3-page view, you should see all the 3 pages. Adjust the setting under Page setup and you should be able to print them all.
The alternative is to save your paper and ink and wait for the book that I will publish at the end of the project
I came here to tell you this was my favorite flower until the Poroporo came out, and now I find out you’ll be publishing a book, too. How exciting!!!
