Introduction
Clematis Montana, also called Anemone Clematis is another climbing flowering plant from the Clematis Species group. It blooms in spring, its impressive white flowers opening about 2 inches wide.

How to Crochet a Clematis Montana Flower?
Crochet Yarn
- Kid silk colour A = light green
- embroidery cotton colour B = yellow, colour C = white.
Crochet Hook
- 2mm steel hook.
Details of components
- green ball-shape stigma in the centre of the flower surrounded by a ring of yellow stamens
- 4 white sepals.
Crochet Pattern
Green Stigma Ball 
Start: using 2 ends of colour A and 2mm hook make 3ch, join in ring with sl st, 1ch
R1: 6sc in the ring, join with sl st
R2: (1sc, 2sc in next sc)x3 = 9sts, join in ring with sl st, 1ch,
R3: 9sc, join in ring with sl st
R4: same; R5: same
R2: (3sts-sc dec) x4 to close the hemisphere. Finish off A.
Sepals 
Start: using C and 2mm hook make 16ch, join with sl st in ring, 1ch
_R1:4sc, 1ch; R2: 4sc, 1ch; R3: inc to 6sc, 1ch; R4: inc to 8sc, 1ch;
R5: 8sc, 1ch; R6: inc to 10sc, 1ch; R7: inc to 12sc, 1ch; R8: 12sc, 1ch;
R9: 12sc, 1ch; R10: 12sc, 1ch; R11: 3sts-sc dec, 6sc, 3sts-sc dec = 8sts, 1ch;
R12: 2sts-sc dec, 4sc, 2sts-sc dec = 6sts, 1ch.
R13: 2sts-sc dec, 2sc, 2sts-sc dec = 4sts, 1ch.
Make 13sl st on the edge of sepal to get back to the ring.
Repeat from _ 3 times to make the 4 sepals.
After finishing the last sepal, on each of the 4 sepals make: 7sc, 2dc in each of the next 16 sts and 7sl sts on the edge of the sepal towards the centre of the flower. Finish off C.
Stamens
Cut about 40 pieces thread in colour B and 8cm in length (3 strands only). Thigh a knot at each end and pull each piece through at the top side of ring.
Assembly
Position the ball piece in the sepals’ ring and stitch them all together.
Conclusion
The Anemone Clematis crochet pattern is ready!

What size yarn or thread did you use? It said “embroidery cotton” but from what I found when I did an internet search there are many sizes. I’m guessing maybe a size 3 thread based on the 2mm hook size which should be a “A or B” size from what my other internet search came up.
