The Heath Milkwort or Polygala serpyllifolia is a perennial wild flower native to heathery and grassy places. The flowers are about 5mm long showing up in spikes of 3-8 pieces during summer months. The flowers are usually dark blue but can also be found in pink, white or bicoloured blue and white.

How to Crochet a Heath Milkwort Flower?
- Embroidery cotton (6strands) colour A = blue, colour B = white, colour C = green.
- 1.75 mm steel hook.
Details of components
- 5 sepals: 3 green and 2 blue petal-like
- 3 lobe petal tube with two fringed lobes
- white stamens.
Crochet Flower Pattern
Crochet Stem and Sepals (3-sepal piece)
Start: using C and 1.75mm hook, make 6ch, skip 1st ch and make 5sl st, 1ch; continue with 6sc in the last ch, join in ring with sl st, 1ch, and continue in round
R1: [make in next sc: sl st, 4ch, skip 1st ch, 3sc, sl st in next sc] repeat 3 times = 3 sepals. Fasten off C.
Crochet Sepals (2-sepal piece)
Start: using A and 1.75mm hook, make 4ch, join in ring with sl st, 1ch, and continue in round
R1: 6sc in the ring, join in ring with sl st, 1ch
R2: (11ch, skip 1st ch, make 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 4tr, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc, sl st in next 3 sc) repeat twice. Fasten off A.
Crochet Tubular Corolla
Start: using colour A and 1.75m hook, make 4ch, join with sl st, 1ch
R1: 6sc in ring, join with sl st, 1ch
R4: same; change to colour B, fasten off A,
R5: 6sc, join with sl st, 1ch
R5: [(1sc, 1dc) in next sc, (1dc,1sc) in next sc], 3ch, skip 1st ch, make 2 sl st, sl st in next sc on tube, 4ch, skip 1st ch, make 3 sl st, sc in next 2 sc on tube, 4ch, skip 1st ch, make 3 sl st, sl st in next sc on tube, 3ch, skip 1st ch, make 2 sl st, sl st in first sc on row. Fasten off B.
Cut 2 pieces colour B, 2¾inches and make a knot at both ends. Pick the loops from the middle and pull them through the tubular corolla. Secure them at back of tube.
Position the tube onto the 2-sepals piece with the round lobe placed between the 2 sepals and stitch together. Stitch the 3-sepals piece onto the back of the 2-sepals piece.
