Leaf Crochet Pattern
Start: Make a 4 strand padding cord by folding the thread twice. Fasten the working thread to the cord by working a sc in the loop at the end,
R1: make 32sc on cord, draw it to form a ring and join with sl st in the first st, 1ch
R2: working on the back loops only and over the cord make (3sc, 2sc in the 4th st from R1) x 8 = 40sc
R3: working on the back loops only and over the cord make (3sc, 2sc in the 4th st from R2) x 10 = 50sc
R4: first leaf: Drop the cord, make (3ch, skip 2sts, 1sc in next st) x 5, 2ch, skip 1st, 1dc in next st = 6 loops, turn
- 1sc under the 2ch loop, (3ch, 1sc under next 3ch) x 4, 2ch, 1dc in last loop = 5 loops, turn
- work in the same way to make 4 loops, turn
- work in the same way to make 3 loops, turn
- work in the same way to make 2 loops, turn
- work in the same way to make 1 loop, turn.
Draw out the loop on the hook until it is large enough for the spool to pass through, tighten the thread to secure the last stitch, and then lay the thread slackly down the side of the leaf until you reach the ring. Make sl st into the last sc that was worked in the ring after the ch loop. Repeat from * making 2 more leaves the same way. The last leaf should be finished in the st in which the first was begun.
R5: pick up the padding cord and holding it along the edge of the first leaf work 3sc into every little loop of ch up the first side of the triangle, make 7sc into the loop at the tip and 3sc into the loops of the 2nd side. Continue until the margin of the triangle is completed. Fasten off the padding cord and working thread.
Crochet Loopy Centre
Start: make 15ch, join with sl st, 1ch
R1: Make 24sc in the ring, join with sl st
R2: (1sc in next sc, 6ch, 1sc) x 12, join with sl st. Fasten off.
Position the Loopy Centre in the middle of the triangle and stitch the two pieces together.
That’s all! The crochet pattern is ready!
