Wheel flower crochet pattern in Irish Crochet style
The following pattern is based on an antique Irish crochet motif compiled by Therese de Dillmont in her book, Masterpieces of Irish Crochet Lace. I'll use the crochet cotton Size 10, but it can be done in any gauge of yarn. And of course, you don't need to stick to white colour.
How to Crochet a simple Wheelflower in Irish Crochet style?
Crochet Yarn
- crochet cotton Size 10 colour = white, or Size 5 multicolour orange.
Crochet Hook
- 1.75 mm steel hook.
Wheel Flower Crochet Pattern
Start: using 1.75 mm steel hook make 5ch, join with sl st
R1: make 4ch, (1dc, 1ch) x 11, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the start of row, 1ch
R2: make (2sc in the 1ch loop from R1, 1sc in the dc from R1) x 11, 2sc in the last ch loop and 1sc in the ch from end of R2
R3: [2sc, (make 1picot and sl st at base of picot)] x 12, 2sc and join with sl st. Fasten off threads.
