About Bleeding Heart
Bleeding Heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) is an ornamental perennial plant native to Eastern Asia. This plant has the funniest names that you could imagine: Venus’s car, Lady in a bath, Lyre flower and Dutchman’s trousers.
The leaves are compound with 3 leaflets. The flowers bloom in late spring, early summer. They are heart-shaped with pink outer petals and white inner petals and hang off a horizontal raceme. Check out pattern 134 for this plant's leaf.
