CROCHET PATTERNS (Pattern #14 UEFA EURO 2012 Flower) – 365 Flowers Bouquet Project

Today's 365 Flower Challenge is the UEFA EURO 2012 Flower logo.

Inspiration

UEFA EURO 2012 Flower Crochet Pattern

 INSTRUCTIONS:

Yarn: tapestry cotton colour A= white, colour B= red, colour C= blue, colour D= green,

tapestry cotton colour E= black, colour F= yellow (for embroidery)

Pollyfill stuffing

Crochet hook: 1.75mm

Details of components:

-         big white ball in the centre of the branch

-          small red ball to the left hand side of the branch

-          small blue ball to the right hand side of the branch.

METHOD:

Big ball

Start: using A, make 3ch, join with sl st, 1ch, continue work in round

R1: 6sc in ring, join with sl st, 1ch

R2: ((1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 9st, join with sl st, 1ch

R3: (1sc, (1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 12st, join with sl st, 1ch

R4: (1sc, 1sc, (1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 15st, join with sl st, 1ch

R5: (1sc, 1sc, 1sc, (1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 18st, join with sl st, 1ch

R6: ((1sc, 1sc), 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc)x3 = 21st, join with sl st, 1ch

R7: 21sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R8: same

R9: same

R10: (1skip, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc)x3 = 18st, join with sl st, 1ch

R11: (1sc, 1skip, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc)x3 = 15st, join with sl st, 1ch

R12: (1sc, 1sc, 1skip, 1sc, 1sc)x3 = 12st, join with sl st, 1ch

R13: (1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1skip)x3 = 9st, join with sl st, 1ch

Small ball

Start: using B, make 3ch, join with sl st, 1ch, continue work in round

R1: 6sc in ring, join with sl st, 1ch

R2: ((1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 9st, join with sl st, 1ch

R3: (1sc, (1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x3 = 12st, join with sl st, 1ch

R4: 12sc, join with sl st, 1ch

R5: same

R6: (1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1skip)x3 = 9st, join with sl st, 1ch

R7: (1sc, 1skip, 1sc)x3 = 6st, join with sl st, 1ch

R8: (1skip, 1sc)x3 = 3st, join with sl st, 1ch

R9: make (1 picot on top of ball)x4. Finish off.

Make another small ball in C.

Stem and sepals for big ball

Start: using D, make 5ch, join with sl st, 1ch, continue work in round with 5sc for 4cm

R1: (1sc, 1sc)x5 = 10st, join with sl st, 1ch

R2: ((1sc, 1sc), 1sc)x5 = 15st, join with sl st. Finish off leaving a long tail.

Thread a needle with tail of yarn and stitch white ball to the sepals.

Similarly, make two shorter stems of 2cm each and attach the red/blue ball to the sepals, then attach the little stems to the big stem.

Thread a needle with E and using basic backstitch, outline the hexagon and the little flower shapes onto the big ball. Thread the needle with F and make the men shapes, hexagon inner contour and fill in the little flower shapes. I didn't mark the shapes before stitching. If you think freehand embroidery is not your cup of tea, try draw a template on the paper first, and then transfer the design onto the ball using a sharp tip marker .

The flower logo is ready!
