I didn’t know anything about Tea Trees until, after doing some research to match Louise’s Tea Tree Flower with a variety described by horticultural specialists, I found out that this is a New Zealand Tea Tree (Leptospermum scoparium), also known as Manuka. The flowers remind you of miniature wild roses, with delicate petals and a center of pollen-tipped anthers.

The Manuka bushes bloom 6 to 7 months an year and produce that lovely, healthy honey that we get here in Europe– branded as Manuka Honey. They bloom in such abundance, that the bushes turn into a mass of white, pink, rose, or dark red.

Beautiful. I’m glad I found your blog and am enjoying catching up to your ‘year’. Thank you for posting a bit about the flower you’ve designed from. I not only get the anticipation of creating something beautiful, but also learn a bit of something to think about as I craft. Thank you.
